Week of November 8, 2009
Monday - Psalm 531. Even those who try to obey God will eventually fail at some point. Sin is part of human nature ever since Adam and Eve. (Vs. 3) This is why we need a Savior.
If you have not asked Jesus to come into your life as Lord and Savior, do so now. Today is the day of Salvation. Know that He is there waiting for you, that He loves you, and through Him you have the victory. Simply call upon Him, confess that you are a sinner, and ask Him to forgive you and come into your life as Your Lord and Savior. Then thank Him and praise Him! All things will become new! Tell someone what you just did!
Tuesday - Psalm 541. Just as the Psalmist cries out to God in time of trouble, we should too. Who does he say is his Helper? (Vs. 1-4)
2. Take time today to offer praise and thanksgiving for all He has done in your life. (Vs. 6-7)
Wednesday - Psalm 551. The desire to run from problems is human nature. We don't like to face them. (Vs. 6-8) If you are going through a hard time right now, call upon God to help you to solve those problems.
2. Betrayal is one of the deepest hurts, especially if it comes someone we love, or from a brother or sister in the Lord. (Vs. 12-14) If you have suffered from betrayal call upon the Lord right now to deliver you from the hurt and set you free. Release that person to the Lord and ask God to forgive him or her. Then tell God that you will to forgive, and ask Him to give you the feelings to go with it.
3. When did the psalmist pray? (Vs. 17)
4. Let us quickly release our burdens to our Father who wants to carry them for us! (Vs. 22)
Thursday - Psalm 561. When we are tempted to be afraid, let us choose to trust God as an act of our will, not as an emotional response. Practice this response and refuse to be afraid when storms come. (Vs. 3,4)
2. Who hears us when we cry out for help? (Vs. 9) Who is for us?
3. Who have you placed your trust in? (Vs. 11)
Friday - Psalm 571. As a shadow provides sun protection; as a bird covers her babies in the nest with her wings for protection; so God provides a place of refuge for those who call upon Him. (Vs. 1) We can take refuge in Him in times of trouble! God is always concerned for His children.
2. As the psalmist cried out for help; if we need help, we can pray and cry out to Him also with faith in our heart! (Vs. 2) What will He do for us? (Vs. 3.
3.In a midst of lions is to be in the middle of our enemies. (Vs. 4) What does the psalmist do in the midst of trouble? (Vs. 5-11) What does that teach us?
Saturday - Psalm 581. The unjust rulers were distorting justice, perhaps misusing their power. (Vs. 1- 2) When we see those in public office doing wrong, let us take action. We can pray, seek God, write to those in authority and let our voice be heard against injustice. Let the righteous speak out! Today, when you hear the news cry out to God for justice, and if you see something that must be changed, let your voice be heard. We can call, write letters, sign e-mail petitions, protest!
2. What will people say when the righteous are avenged? (Vs. 11)
