Monday - Psalm 47 1. This is a day to rejoice! Make a loud noise! Clap your hands and shout to the Lord! Praise Him for all He has done! When we have victory, we do not silently rejoice, we shout! Glory! (Vs. 1) 2. Who is the Lord, and what does He do for us? (Vs. 2-3) 3. As Christians we can equate this verse with Jesus, who has gone up in victory after accomplishing salvation for us. (Vs. 5) 4. Understand all that God has done for us! Meditate upon that today. (Vs. 7)
Tuesday - Psalm 48 1. The city of our God is Jerusalem, (Vs. 1) and God makes her secure forever.(Vs.8) What God began in the Old Testament He will complete in the New Jerusalem at the end of the ages. (See Rev. 21:10-22:5) Glory!! 2. God has committed Himself to be the believer's faithful Guide throughout life, in death and beyond death to where we will be with Him forever and ever. (Vs. 14) Let us shut the TV off, and spend time praising and worshiping Him today for all that He has done, and will do.
Wednesday - Psalm 49 1. The psalmist knew that God is sovereign and in control. He did not need to be afraid when problems came. (Vs. 5-9) Where do we place our trust when bad things happen? 2. What is the fate of those who trust in themselves? (Vs. 13-14) 3. What will happen for those who live for God? (Vs. 15) 4. What is the man like who has riches without understanding? (Vs. 20)
Thursday - Psalm 50 1. The Mighty One, in Hebrew, El Elohim, and Yahweh emphasize His strength, His Divine nature, and His unchanging character. (Vs. 1) Praise Him out loud today! Declare His majesty! 2. God is a God of love and mercy, but He is also a God of justice and judgement. (Vs. 3-6) Let us never, ever, take Him for granted! 3. What belongs to God? (Vs. 10-12) 4. What are we to offer God? Thank Him from your heart today! 5. Who are we to call upon when in trouble? When we do, what will God do? (Vs. 15) 6. What will God do for those who praise and obey Him? (Vs. 23)
Friday - Psalm 51 1. Any sin is an offence to God. All who have sinned greatly are overwhelmed by feelings of guilt. David sinned greatly, and appealed for forgiveness and restoration based on God's grace, mercy, and unfailing love and compassion. Thank God that when we approach God with a repentant heart we can receive forgiveness and restoration. (Vs.1- 19) Let us examine ourselves today and confess any known sins. Thank God for the shed blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who took our place on the Cross of Calvary. His Blood washes us clean. 2. Let us pray verses 10-12 today. 3. What sacrifice does God delight in? (Vs. 16-17)
Saturday - Psalm 52 1. Ancient Hebrews honored the olive tree as "king of trees" and considered it a symbol of beauty, virility, prosperity and divine blessing. By comparing himself to the olive tree, David was acknowledging God as the source of his strength and fruitfulness. (Vs. 8) Who is the source of your strength? Tell God! Praise Him!
